The Arkansas Derby
About the Race
Oaklawn Park hosts the the prestigious Arkansas Derby. It is the last in the Kentucky Derby prep series, and as a result the final chance to earn qualifying points.
The first edition of the race was in 1936 and since it has produced many Kentucky Derby winners including fan favorite Smarty Jones in 2004. Oaklawn Park is located is Hot Springs Arkansas. It is a one the oldest tracks in the US, the first race there was over 100 years ago!
